China’s Higher Ed enrollment heightens by 1.8% from 2021. The numbers: there are 46.55 million students at higher education institutions across the country as of 2022. Moreover, Chinese language learning is a $7.4B market today, growing at 12% particularly in digital, a detailed report from HolonIQ. 🇨🇳
ACQUISITIONS
After acquiring iNeuron last year, PhysicsWallah acquires Knowledge Planet, a UAE-based K12 Edtech startup aligning with its goals to expand in GCC. Furthermore, the unicorn startup talks about raising $250M to increase the valuation from $1.1B to $3.3B. 🇮🇳

Metaverse is expected to reach around $5 trillion by 2030. Sharad Mehra, CEO of GUS, talks about the potential changes in education during the rise of Metaverse—where pedagogies will change, virtual spaces will heighten up compared to physical campuses, and personalized learning will be everywhere.
How HUGE edtech market will be in 2023? The Global Edtech Market will approach $1 trillion by 2030. AI, Metaverse, and IoT (the internet of things) are gigantic movers of this growth. China and India are leading the market in terms of the number of students, teachers, and schools.
Over 37,000 students around the world were surveyed on what kind of education they wanted. They are crying to modernize education. What they want: teachers become mentors rather than teachers, and learn financial literacy, data analytics, and programming. In short, they want to learn practical skills rather than learn history.
